Glowance← BackPrivacy policy
Last updated: July 5, 2026
Glowance (“Glowance”, “we”, “us”) is a mobile app that analyzes photos of your skin and hair and builds a personalized daily routine. Your face is about as personal as data gets, so this policy explains — in plain language — what we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
1. What we collect
- Account information. The name you enter during onboarding and, if you create an account, your email address.
- Personalization answers. Your responses to onboarding questions — age band, skin type, hair type, primary concerns, and lifestyle habits such as sun exposure, SPF use, sleep, and water intake.
- Face scan photos. Photos you take in the app for analysis. These are collected only when you actively take a scan; we never access your camera or photo library in the background.
- Scan results and activity. The scores, routines, and task completions generated as you use the app.
- Technical data. Basic device and usage information (device model, OS version, app version, crash logs) used to keep the app working.
2. How we use your data
- To analyze your scans. Your photos and personalization answers are processed by an AI model to produce your glow scores and a routine tailored to you. This is the core of the service.
- To track your progress. We store your scan history so the app can show how your scores change over time.
- To operate and improve the app. Diagnostics and aggregate usage help us fix bugs and improve features.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos for advertising.
3. Face photos, specifically
Photos you submit for a scan are transmitted securely to our servers and passed to our AI provider (Google’s Gemini models) solely to generate your analysis. Photos are used to produce your results and are not used to identify you across other services, build advertising profiles, or train models on our behalf. You can delete your scans — including the photos — at any time from within the app or by contacting us.
4. Who we share data with
We share data only with the service providers needed to run Glowance, and only for the purposes described above:
- Hosting and storage — Cloudflare, which hosts our backend and database.
- AI processing — Google, whose Gemini models perform the scan analysis under our instructions.
These providers process data under agreements that restrict use to providing their service to us. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you have an account so the app can show your history and progress. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data — including scan photos and results — within 30 days, except where a longer period is required by law or for resolving disputes.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR if you are in the EU/EEA), you have the right to:
- access a copy of your personal data,
- correct inaccurate data,
- delete your data (“right to be forgotten”),
- restrict or object to certain processing,
- receive your data in a portable format, and
- withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at ammariqbal043@gmail.com. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Children
Glowance is not directed at children. The app includes an age gate, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to production systems is limited to what is needed to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your photos and answers with the sensitivity they deserve.
9. Not medical data, not medical advice
Glowance is a cosmetic well-being companion. Scan results and routines are not medical diagnoses, and we do not process your data to provide healthcare. See our Terms of Service for details.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
